This band (although older than expected) is one of the best bands Ive heard in a while. also on that list is Justice, Beat Union and Portugal The man but these guys give em a serious run for their money. I recently recieved the bands Home Away, Southern Collection EPs andto be perfecetly honest, they both left me wanting more. the bands knows how to write a great pop song and leaves its mark with you for the rest of the day while your running around trying to get that badass bass line outta your head. deliverin some hard hittin vocals overtop an incredble bass and drums combo this band is ready to take on the world.
The Home Away EP kicks off with The Box, a catchy well structured pop hit that immediatly lets you know exactly what your in for with the rest of the tracks. Fans of bands like Radiohead, the pixies, blur (actual blur fans…everyone likes song2 ), cat power and vampire weekend should also find themselves locked into this band before the chorus creeps up on ya. Navy Man, the albums second track, is a song that makes you wanna get up and dance! perfect playlist selection for everyones “gettin ready to go out” compilation (with the darkest lyrics for any poppin rock song you’ll ever hear). and finishing with Monster I found myself running to the cd player to throw in the next album.
The Souhtern Collection is simply the ECC at their absolute best. Every track is a masterpiece, all the way from Nice Clean Shirt to Springstein. This band is purly addictive and has a solid understanding of exaclty how each song should sound. The female vocalist used on Hollywood couldn’t have fit better and the guitar solos found throughout the entire EP are short, sweet, rockin and quite a tease. Watch youselfs people. This band is gonna show everyone that you dont need timbaland to make a No1 hit.
